Childbirth Classes

These classes are specifically related to natural childbirth. Time is spent to cover and practice many aspects of a normal labor and delivery. Fathers are integrated into the whole experience so they can step fully into their role as loving support person for the mama. We will see several videos of natural births so everyone is prepared for the actual experience (not the Hollywood version of what birth looks like!) Childbirth classes are required for first time parents and highly encouraged for first time home birth families. (For more information see Childbirth Classes page)

Placenta Medicine

The placenta is an amazing organ designed to support life. It is beautiful and powerful. First we use traditional Chinese herbs to treat the placenta. Then we dehydrate, grind and encapsulate it to make it easier to take. Taking placenta medicine speeds mama’s recovery and helps prevent the “baby blues” and postpartum depression. Bodywork/Counseling

We help our clients discover their personal beliefs and issues so we can help them to transcend any limits they have accidentally put on themselves. Whether we are using traditional psychotherapeutic techniques, training as a Reiki Master, guided meditations, affirmations, shamanic trance work, or physical assessment, we can find where the client holds resistance and help them melt that resistance so they can become their absolute personal best.

Ceremony

Blessing Way, Naming or Dedication Ceremonies, Becoming Parents Celebrations, Commitment Ceremonies and more. We have been facilitating ceremonies for 20 years (traditional and non-traditional, multi-denominational and multi-cultural) all in the service of the Creator and the Delightful Tapestry that is our Community. (We also do monthly purification/pipe ceremonies and seasonal celebrations throughout the year.)

Organic Vegetables and Herbs

We honor and support the tradition of the family farm and the nutritious foods we can grow in a sustainable way. We operate a small CSA (membership farm). Memberships are purchased before March 21st and members pick up a weekly package of fresh produce throughout the growing season. Some of the herbs that are used at Dancing Tree Midwifery are grown on site.
